Manchester United face fresh competition in their bid to replace David De Gea this summer.

Erik ten Hag has a number of areas he needs to strengthen this summer ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League, and one of those areas is between the sticks. De Gea is officially a free agent after failing to agree a deal with United, and while there has been talk that there could yet be a fresh offer, it seems United are exploring their options in the meantime.

Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana appears to be a target having impressed over recent years, most recently reaching the Champions League final with the Serie A giants.

There have been reports that United have made an unsuccessful opening offer to Inter for Onana, who is reportedly valued well above £60million this summer. But whether the Red Devils have made their first move or not, it seems there is competition for Onana’s signature, and not just from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

According to CBS Sports, Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr have made a lucrative offer for Onana, also offering the player attractive terms in a bid to lure him to the Saudi project. We have already seen a number of players head to Saudi Arabia this summer with the country making significant investments into their football project.

Onana, who is still only 27 years of age, would be a huge steal for the Saudi league, especially given top-level European clubs appear to be battling it out for his signature. Though, it’s true that while United may not offer quite as attractive terms to Onana, they can offer a much bigger platform, with Premier League and Champions League football.
