Man Utd legend David Beckham shares heartwarming Instagram post about wife Victoria for wedding anniversary

Ex-Man Utd star David Beckham has paid a loving tribute to his wife Victoria on their wedding anniversary. The couple is one of the most famous in recent years- and have now been married for 24 years.  

David posted on his Instagram page earlier today (July 4) with a photo of the couple from what looks to be many years ago- with the former footballer sporting his curtains hair cut he became well known for. In the post, he has also tagged all of the couple’s children. 

He wrote: “On this day 4.7.99 24 years and counting. To the best wife , mummy & drinking partner (most of the time) Happy Anniversary love u so much.”

Perhaps understandably, the post has received lots of engagement. Over 500,000 people have liked the photo since it was posted. 

The couple have known each other for over 25 years. They met at the players lounge at Old Trafford following a match- Victoria was in attendance as one of the Spice Girls. 

In 2016, Victoria told British Vogue about the meeting. She said: "[Love] will happen to you in the Manchester United players' lounge—although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy. He's going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it)."

In his biography, David also recalled the meeting. "My wife picked me out of a soccer sticker book. And I chose her off the telly. It felt straight away like we'd always been meant to be together."
