It means the Red Devils will be keen to wrap up a few outstanding transfer issues before flying, with both incomings and outgoings on the agenda.

Uncertainty surrounds Ronaldo

Fabrizio Romano has claimed ‘nobody at Manchester United knows when Cristiano Ronaldo will return to pre-season training’.

Writing in his CaughtOffside column, the Italian said the 37-year-old is disappointed with the state of the club, and believes there has been interest from Chelsea.

It comes amid claims from journalist Bruno Andrade that United are willing to accept a fee of £13m for the attacker.

Ronaldo did not report for training on Monday or Tuesday, with the players having Wednesday off.

De Jong’s unpaid wages

As per the Guardian, United’s pursuit of Frenkie de Jong is being held up by a £17m ‘deferred salary payment’ from Barcelona, which the player feels he is owed.

De Jong previously held off being paid due to the club’s precarious financial situation, with the rest of his earnings to be spread out across the remainder of his contract.

However, with the player potentially close to leaving Barcelona, the issue of these payments is holding up the move.

The Guardian added a fee of £56.2m plus add-ons has been agreed between the clubs.

Eriksen latest

Romano tweeted on Thursday morning to say that ‘contracts are being checked by lawyers’ in regards to the transfer of Christian Eriksen.

The midfielder has agreed to join United on a three-year deal, ManchesterWorld understands, with the completion of a medical and signing his contract yet to be wrapped up.

But with the club set to depart on their pre-season tour on Friday, there is likely to be a push to get the deal across the line in time for Eriksen to fly out with the squad.
