Man Utd 2022 pre-season tour: Who do they play? Where to watch the matches vs Liverpool & more

Manchester United will be involved in six warm-up matches ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Manchester United’s pre-season tour begins later this week when the first-team squad jet out to Thailand.

Within a few days the Red Devils will face their first match under Erik ten Hag, before heading off to Australia for the remainder of their summer tour.

It’s the first time United have spent a pre-season abroad in three years due to Covid, with the trips overseas a real opportunity for the club to monetize their worldwide support.

Ahead of the tour kicking off, we have the need-to-know information, including where you can watch all six pre-season matches.

Who do they play & where?

It all begins on Tuesday 12 July, when United host old foes Liverpool in Bangkok (2pm kick-off). Three days later the Red Devils play Melbourne Victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with the game taking place at 11:05am.

On Tuesday 19 July it’s another Premier League opponent in Crystal Palace, again in Melbourne (11:10am), before the trip to Australia, and the summer tour, wraps up by meeting Aston Villa in Perth on 23 July (10:45am).

A week before the season starts and United have two games in as many days, which should offer most of the players the opportunity to get 90 minutes in their legs.

A trip to Oslo awaits Ten Hag’s men as they play Atletico Madrid at 12:45pm on Saturday 30 July. The final pre-season clash of 2022 takes place the following day, when United host Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford (4pm).

That marks the final games before the Red Devils kick off their 2022/23 Premier League campaign at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 7 August.

When do they travel?

United head out to Bangkok this Friday, with the entire first-team squad expected to make the trip.

However, whether Cristiano Ronaldo will be part of that group remains unknown, with the attacker missing training this week.

Where can I watch the matches?

For fans from the UK, the only place to watch all six pre-season friendlies is United’s official channels.

The club will broadcast the games on their website, app and TV channel, MUTV.
