Manchester City will look to progress to the FA Cup final for the first time since 2019 when they travel to Wembley on Saturday, to take on Liverpool in the last four of the competition.

The match, which kicks-off at 3.30pm, will see the Sky Blues do battle with the Reds for the second time in six days, with the pair drawing 2-2 in the Premier League last Sunday.

City come into the game off the back of a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in their Champions League quarter-final second-leg, which saw Pep Guardiola’s side progress to the last four of the competition with a 1-0 aggregate score.

As for Liverpool, they also progressed to the next stage of the Champions League after drawing 3-3 on Wednesday with Benfica. Jurgen Klopp’s team won their first leg 3-1 away from home.

What’s the latest team news?

Guardiola seemed to imply in Friday’s pre-match press conference that Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne could both be fit for the trip to Wembley after they picked up injuries in Madrid.

“They [Walker and De Bruyne] didn't train today,” said the Catalan on Friday. “We will see tomorrow. Apparently, it will be so close after what happened on Wednesday, but we will see. Ruben Dias trained today and we will see about him.”

The Dias update is positive news indeed, with the Portugal defender last playing on 1 March due to a hamstring injury.

Guardiola also said he might decide to start Zack Steffen in nets, as he did for the quarter-final win over Southampton.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus is available again after missing Wednesday’s game through suspension. Cole Palmer is still expected to miss out through injury.

As for Liverpool, Klopp made multiple changes to his starting XI against Benfica from those who played City last week.

Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Naby Keita, James Milner, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino came into the side, while the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertoson were rested.

Diogo Jota, who has netted two goals in three FA Cup matches so far this season, is likely to play against City despite picking up a knock in midweek.

“I said last night that Diogo got a knock – that swelled up slightly directly after the game, obviously while I was in the press conference,” Klopp said in his pre-match briefing on Thursday.

“Diogo, good chance he will be alright but we need to have a closer look tomorrow. That’s it.”
