Manchester Marathon 2022 attracted thousands of runners - can you spot yourself or your friends in our huge gallery of race photos?

Thousands of runners were greeted by a bright blue sky as this year’s Therme Manchester Marathon made a welcome return to the spring race calendar.

Around 26,000 people pounded the streets of Manchester on Sunday morning, taking on one of the UK’s most popular marathons.

New Order frontman and keen runner Peter Hook set the first wave off their marks at 9am, with the day’s events headed up by wheelchair competitors and then elite athletes who were vying for qualification in this year’s Commonwealth Games.

But as ever, the marathon attracted runners of all ages and abilities - and there were some fantastic fancy dress efforts for charity among those taking part in the spring sunshine.

Nick Rusling, CEO of Manchester Marathon, said: “Once again, the Therme Manchester Marathon delivered a fantastic event for all those who came, from the runners to the spectators. We saw many runners celebrate achieving PBs, and of course we got to witness the intense battle to the finish line for the elites.”
