The Stone Roses tribute act The Clone Roses have announced a massive headlining gig at well-known Manchester venue Heaton Park.

The tribute act will follow in the footsteps of some massive names in popular music when they step out onto the stage at the green space next year. And they will be playing somewhere The Stone Roses themselves played a memorable home show just over a decade ago.

Tickets go on sale in the morning on Saturday (5 November) so fans will have to move quick if they want to make sure they are in the audience for what promises to be a memorable event, Here’s everything you need to know about the headlining gig and what you need to do if you want to snap up tickets.

When is the gig and when and where do tickets go on sale?

The Clone Roses will be the headliners at Heaton Park for an event called Heaton Park - The Resurrection, which takes place on Saturday 13 May 2023. It follows the band’s hugely-successful appearance at the massive tribute-themed event Spike Island - The Resurrection.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday 5 November at 10am and can be bought from the event’s website here. Prices start at £22.50 and VIP packages are also available. The event is a huge celebration of Manchester music, with original names from the city’s scene rubbing shoulders with those who enjoy playing their own renditions of their heroes’ best-known anthems.

Manchester bands who have previously headlined Heaton Park include New Order, Oasis and the Courteeners, while The Stone Roses themselves played three incredible reunion gigs there in 2012 for which more than 200,000 tickets were sold. A little over a decade on The Clone Roses will be hoping to bring back some of that atmosphere, while the band will also be marking a double milestone as next year is its 25th anniversary.

What has been said about the show?

Gav Scott of The Clone Roses said: “We’ve been wanting to do Heaton Park for ages but it’s such a popular and busy park. When the opportunity finally came, we couldn’t say no! Over the years, we’ve played the Blackpool Empress Ballroom, Spike Island, and now this… it feels like we’ve completed The Stone Roses cycle to a certain degree!

“That Roses Heaton Park setlist [in 2012] was all the classic songs you’d hope them to play so I’ve no doubt our show will be very similar to their set in 2012. We’d love to celebrate our 25th anniversary in the city that has been so loyal to us from day one. I think people have accepted that we really put the effort into recreating a Roses show and they are really supportive of what we do. In terms of the day itself, there’s going to be an absolute feast of Manchester music!”
