Lightopia: a first look at the magical Manchester lights festival in Heaton Park

The award-winning festival Lightopia has returned to Manchester for the third year in a row to light up Heaton Park once again.

The lantern and light festival includes interactive exhibits, immersive light installations, colourful lasers, water shows and a magical illuminated trail.

This year’s theme is ‘A Christmas Fantasy’, showing a collection of never-before-seen illuminations made up of over two-million lightbulbs ensuring Heaton Park shines brightly over the Christmas period.

Open from 5pm to 10pm, the festival will run until Monday 3 January. The event is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except during school holidays, and will be shut on Christmas Day.

Advance tickets are priced at £20.00 for adults (or £22.00 on the day), £13.00 for children (or £15.00 on the day), and £60.00 for families of two adults and two children (£68.00 on the day). See here for more details on booking.
