All proceeds from the event on Thursday 29 September will go to Forever Manchester, which helps support community projects all around Greater Manchester.
In addition to his impressive TV and film career, the Salford-born actor already has plenty of quizmaster experience. Since the start of the year he has been MCing a regular pop quiz in Chorlton in aid of The Edge Theatre & Arts Centre.
He said: "I’m thrilled to be hosting this Pop Quiz at Freight Island...it has proved to be a success throughout this year in raising funds for The Edge in Chorlton so this will be a great opportunity to raise money for Forever Manchester.
“I’ve heard that people are already bagsying tables!"
