Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong’s latest comments seem to indicate that the Dutchman might not be keen on a summer move.
The midfielder was speaking in an interview after representing The Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League win over Wales and described current club Barcelona as the ‘biggest’ in the world.

Barcelona star ‘flattered’ by interest but ‘feels fine’ at Nou Camp
Frenkie de Jong spoke to the press after The Netherland’s recent UEFA Nations League win over Wales and was asked about reported interest in his services this summer.

Hide AdAs reported by the Metro, the 25-year old commented that he was “flattered” but felt “fine” at the “biggest club in the world”.
He said: “You’re always flattered when teams show interest in you as a player.
“I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment and I feel fine there, so no news.”
The Dutchman had previously called Barcelona his “dream club, even from a young age”.

Hide AdHowever, the decision to leave may be taken out of de Jong’s hands if recent reports regarding Barcelona’s financial situation are to be believed.
It has been reported that Nou Camp officials have lowered the asking price for the midfielder to £59.9million, down from £73.5million.
Manchester United make move for Eriksen
In other news, Manchester United have made their move to land another midfield target as they bid to bring Christian Eriksen to Old Trafford.
The Danish star is a free agent once his Brentford contract expires The Athletic are reporting that the Red Devils have now offered him a deal.

Hide AdMeanwhile, the Daily Mail claim that landing Eriksen would have no impact on whether or not the club continue to pursue a move for Frenkie de Jong.
The British publication say that new head coach Erik ten Hag wants to sign both midfielders and that de Jong remains the number one target.
Pogba edges closer to Juventus return
Finally, Paul Pogba’s return to Juventus is almost complete according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer ‘guru’ has tweeted that the Frenchman has ‘almonst’ agreed a contract ahead of a free transfer to the Italian side once his Old Trafford deal officially expires.

Pogba famously left Old Trafford on a free transfer to join Juventus in 2012 and it looks like history is set to repeat itself.
