Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore has joined League One side Rotherham on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
United had prioritised a loan exit for the 20-year-old this month as he looks to gain valuable senior experience and get a proper taste of first-team football in his career.

He then suffered a freak shoulder injury during the summer that caused him to miss the start of the current season and another separate injury that saw him sidelined again. He has played twice for the United first-team since making his debut against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup last season, having also featured in the dying moments of a Premier League win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day in 2023.
What Rotherham United said
Speaking ahead of the deal, Rotherham boss Steve Evans teased the addition of Gore on loan for the remainder of the campaign: “I had about an hour's Zoom call with the boy this morning. He seems very keen. We're literally sitting and waiting to see if it's a tick in the box. He might arrive in Rotherham tonight. Might! I'm confident that something is going to happen.
“We're spinning three or four plates on the basis that we see a maximum of three new signings coming in. It's probably two signings, if I'm honest. There's not only one striker we're talking to and in the mix for, we're in for several. Rob (director of football recruitment Scott) gets on with those negotiations behind the scenes. Like every manager, you have a wish-list. We're against the clock. The deadline is Monday night.”
What next for Manchester United
United are also hoping to send young defender Harry Amass out on loan for the remainder of the season. The 17-year-old was a star of last summer's pre-season schedule under former manager Erik ten Hag but was not deemed physical enough to ever be given a chance in the Premier League. The teenage left-back has been named on the bench five times so far this season but is yet to make his competitive debut for the club. An EFL loan move is viewed as the next step in his career progression as he looks to build upon his enormous technical ability and add the toughness that has rarely been required of him in youth-level football.
