Juventus 'want' Man Utd star after delivering Marcus Rashford snub

The latest transfer talk from Manchester United as the Red Devils prepare for the January transfer window.

Speculation over the Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United looks set to dominate the headlines throughout the January transfer window.

Almost nine years have passed since the Red Devils academy graduate marked his first-team debut with a brace in a Europa League tie against Danish side FC Midtjylland before repeating that trick when he was handed a Premier League bow against Arsenal just days later. Since then, Rashford has gone on to become a two-time FA Cup winner, a two-time League Cup winner and was also part of the United side that won the Europa League in 2017. However, the 60-times capped England international has not appeared in the Red Devils’ last four matchday squads after suggesting he was keen to find a new challenge in the near future.

Speaking to journalist Henry Winter, Rashford said: "If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me. When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person. For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps."

The comments led United head coach Ruben Amorim to question the advice the striker had been given by his representatives - but stressed he was ‘focused on improving’ the versatile forward.

"It is a hard situation," Amorim told Sky Sports. “I understand these players have a lot of people around them, making choices that are not the first idea from the player. They chose to do the interview as it is not just Marcus. At the moment I'm focused on improving Marcus. We need a talented guy like Marcus. I forget the interview now and see what I see on the pitch."

Several clubs have been linked with big money moves for Rashford in recent weeks - but one club that can reportedly be ruled out of the mix is Juventus. The Sun have reported the Serie A giants are keen to add a forward to their squad this January and are actually showing an interest in signing one player from Old Trafford. However, they claim it is summer signing Joshua Zirkzee that is on Juve’s radar as head coach Thiago Motta eyes a reunion with a player he first worked with during his time in charge of Bologna.
