How Manchester United’s starting XI could look v Brighton next season - if the transfer rumours are true
Here is how Manchester United’s starting line-up could look if they sign their transfer targets this summer.
Manchester United endured a particularly poor campaign last time out and will be looking to enjoy much more success from the 2022/23 season following Erik ten Hag’s arrival.
The Red Devils have already offloaded a number of former players such as Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba and are now looking to rejuvenate a squad that is low on confidence with some fresh faces.
Ten Hag has been heavily linked with some of the world’s brightest stars this summer that could certainly make up a very strong squad next season, however they are yet to secure their first signing and it is unclear how many of their targets they will be successful in luring to Old Trafford.
We have taken a look at how United’s starting XI could look on the first day of the season - if all the transfer rumours are true..

1. David De Gea
De Gea was Man United’s Player of the Season this year and will continue his reign in between the sticks for the 2022/23 campaign.

2. Denzel Dumfries
Manchester United and Chelsea are both targeting moves for Inter Milan’s Dumfries. The full-back registered five goals and four assists in Serie A last season.

3. Matthijs De Ligt
De Ligt is another of Ten Hag’s former players that has been rumoured to be attracting United’s interest. The Dutch defender has been a regular in Juventus’ backline since joining the club in 2019.

4. Pau Torres
Torres has been linked with a move to Manchester for a year now and are thought to have revived their interest in the defender, though they are yet to make their move.
