Another big update has come out of the Manchester United camp this transfer window.

After snubbing rivals Liverpool of a top four finish last season, Manchester United are eager to keep their momentum going after the summer. How they fare this transfer window will have a huge impact on their upcoming performances, and that includes tying down key players currently on the books.

Fabrizio Romano has provided a huge boost for United fans after revealing Marcus Rashford is close to reaching new terms with the club. In one of his latest Twitter updates, the transfer expert has stated the two parties are “on the verge” of finalising a deal and Rashford is “set to accept the proposal.”

The highly in-form forward is said to be “very happy” under Erik ten Hag at the moment. Final details of Rashford’s new contract are set to be sorted soon and Man United will keep their star performer ahead of another important Premier League season.

The England international enjoyed a stellar 2022/23 season with his boyhood club, netting a staggering 30 goals and contributing a further 11 assists across all competitions. Naturally, he finished the season as United’s highest scorer and now he is set to be rewarded with a shiny new contract for his efforts.

Since breaking into the senior team in 2016, Rashford has made 359 appearances and clocked up 123 goals and 68 assists in that time. His current contract is due to expire next summer, so naturally Man United are swiftly moving to tie down their clinical goal-scorer.

As well as ensuring players like Rashford remain at Old Trafford, ten Hag is on the market for some new recruits. United will need to keep up with their closest Premier League rivals this summer if they want to continue their positive run of form.

Everton’s Jordan Pickford is reportedly United’s number one target for the summer, as the situation regarding David de Gea’s future continues to hang in the balance.
