Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has lost patience with the takeover process at the club and is furious with the impact the never-ending saga is having on transfer plans this summer.

The Red Devils boss is reportedly fuming at the lack of progress and believes it cost the club the chance of landing in-demand West Ham United man Declan Rice this summer.

The Sun reports that ten Hag 'is angry' that the takeover 'foiled' his plans to bring Rice to Old Trafford over the coming months as Arsenal look poised to secure the English international's signature.

The Gunners had a £90 billion bid rejected by West Ham but are expected to up their offer with Manchester City also reported to be interested in Rice.

The Dutchman is being given a small transfer kitty from the Glazers but the current United owners are reluctant to funnel a huge amount of money into the club if they are about to sell it on, especially with no major outgoings from Old Trafford so far this summer.

A number of parties are still involved in negotiations for the potential takeover of Manchester United but the latest remains that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is the leading candidate.

The Qatari is believed to be close to agreeing exclusivity with the Glazers over a possible sale with a reported offer said to be a staggering £6 billion.

United's club share price climbed over the last week following reports of a successful bid from the Sheikh, with the price rising to $25.54 upon release of the Reuters report and closing at $24.88 in New York.

Al-Watan, a Qatar news organisation owned by Sheikh Jassim’s father, reported his bid had been successful earlier this week. However, they later issued a clarification.

Meanwhile, BBC Sport report that INEOS owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still in discussions with the club and would take a majority stake that would allow the Glazers to retain some of their shares, as opposed to a complete Sheikh buyout.
