Hide AdFernandes, who has a reputation of being a little hot-headed in the centre of the park, welcomed Mount to the club this week with a light-hearted social media post.
The 24-year-old arrives at Old Trafford from Stamford Bridge on a £60 million deal to bolster Erik ten Hag's ranks in a move that saw the star leave the club he has been at since a youngster.
Manchester United fans and players will be all too familiar with Mount's capabilities as a midfielder having come against the player 10 times in all competitions since 2018.

Hide AdWhile Mount was never on a winning Chelsea team against Manchester United, there have been some close-fought affairs. One of those came in April 2022 when the sides drew 1-1 at Old Trafford.
In a tight fixture, Chelsea opened the scoring with Marcos Alonso in the 60th minute before Manchester United replied with a Cristiano Ronaldo goal just two minutes later.
Coming together after a goal, Fernandes and Mount grappled with one another before the restart of play with images of the confrontation being caught by photographers.

Hide AdIt was that moment that Fernandes chose to share on his Instagram story this week when welcoming Mount to the club. The cheeky Portuguese re-captioned the image and wrote: "Why did you take so long to sign [angry emoji]. Welcome Mason Mount."
Upon arriving at Old Trafford, Mount said: Mason Mount said: “It’s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career. Having competed against them, I know just how strong a squad it is that I’m joining, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.
“Everyone can see that the club has made big steps forward under Erik ten Hag. Having met with the manager and discussed his plans, I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead, and am ready for the hard work expected here.
“I am hugely ambitious; I know how amazing it feels to win major trophies and what it takes to do it. I will be giving everything to experience that again at Manchester United.”
