Manchester United finally know the asking price for Brazilian attacker Antony, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Erik ten Hag worked with the 22-year old at Ajax and it has been widely reported that the Dutch coach wants a reunion with his former player at Old Trafford.

However, Ajax are determined to keep a hold of their prize assets and he won’t be leaving the Champions League side on the cheap if he does exit this summer.

Here is what has been reported about Ajax’s asking price for Antony and how likely a late window move from Manchester United is:

How much do Ajax want for Antony?

As per the report from the Daily Mail, Ajax will let Antony leave this summer if their £84.8 million asking price is met.

It is understood that the Brazilian wants to leave Amsterdam this summer but the Dutch club are holding firm and have already rejected offers from Manchester United with the most recent said to be £76 million plus add-ons.

The player recently spoke to Italian journalist and ‘transfer guru’ Fabrizio Romano on YouTube and said: “Since February of this year, my agents came to Amsterdam to inform Ajax of my desire to leave the club to face a new challenge and that some interested clubs would arrive and, with them, certainly a great offer.

“During the window months, meetings concluded including a proposal from Ajax for contract renewal.

“I made it clear once again I want to leave the club.

“Today in a meeting with the board I expressed my interest in leaving the club, this time with a considerable offer on the table.

“Others have already arrived (but) Ajax always refuses with the argument it only has five days to replace (me).

“I’m not asking (for Ajax) to release me, I am asking Ajax to sell me as the highest bid received by a player who plays in the Eredivisie.”

How likely are Man Utd to sign Antony before the transfer window closes?

It looks like there is still a very good chance that United will complete a deal for Antony in the next few days.

Oddsmakers have United as 2/5 favourites to capture the Brazilian winger in the next week but his chances of staying at Ajax are still valued at 15/8.

It seems unlikely any other club would come in with an offer at this late stage with Chelsea a long way behind in the market at 25/1.
