Manchester City will reunite with Vincent Kompany today as Burnley visit the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup quarter-final. The Belgian hasn’t returned since ending his eleven year stint with the club in 2019.
Pep Guardiola has only one FA Cup during his time with Man City, with their last trophy coming in Kompany’s final season. However, the Spaniard will be very confident of progressing to the semi-final with a win over the Clarets.

Kompany’s side are having an unbelievable season in the Championship and currently sit 13 points clear at the top of the table, losing to only Manchester United in the Carabao Cup since November. Burnley are arguably in a much stronger position than when they last faced City prior to their relegation, however the defending Premier League champions have lost to the Clarets only once in almost 50 years.

Pep Guardiola has no injury or suspensions to worry about this weekend. However, he is likely to rotate the starting line-up from their thrashing of RB Leipzig in the Champions League midweek.
Stefan Ortega will be between the sticks as he takes up his usual number one position in the FA Cup, while the likes of Rico Lewis, Kalvin Phillips and Julian Alvarez will be pushing for a start at the Etihad Stadium.
Burnley
Burnley will be without Taylor Harwood-Bellis as he is ineligible to face his parent club, however the defender is currently out with a foot injury anyway. The Man City defender has made 26 starts in the Championship since joining on loan in the summer.
