Gary Roden, executive director and general manager, Co-op Live, says: "When you think of Manchester, it’s hard not to think of Peter Kay. He embodies what this city is about, and to have him headlining Co-op Live is tremendously exciting.
"We’re creating an arena that is truly part of the community around it, and having Peter as our opening act is a perfect reminder of that.”
He joins a huge line-up of acts announced for the new venue this year including Take That, who will play a staggering seven nights, and Liam Gallagher, who has four pencilled in. Olivia Rodrigo, Nicki Minaj, Eagles and the Pet Shop Boys are among the other acts taking to the stage in 2024.
Tickets are on pre-sale though the Co-op Member scheme from 10am on Wednesday, February 21 with general sale starting on Friday, February 23 at 10am.
