Peter Kay delighted people at a Morecambe café after stopping off for a chippy tea in the Lancashire resort.

The Bolton comedy icon was at Atkinson's in Albert Road on Wednesday evening. He’s no stranger to the popular eatery having visited back in 2017. Once again, he was more than happy to stop for photos before heading off with his grub.

The Phoenix Nights and Car Share star was dressed casually in a black hoodie and baseball cap, with dark glasses also propped on his head. The 50-year-old is currently back on the road for his first stand-up tour for 12 years having stepped away from the limelight due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.

Atkinson’s shared a photo of his latest visit, saying: "We’ve had a very special and famous visitor come down to visit us recently. This is his SECOND time visiting us in our cafe on Albert Road!

"We might not have provided garlic bread, but he certainly loved his fish & chips. I’m sure we will see him again soon!"
