Some Greater Manchester residents, though, might decide that a spot of retail therapy is in order during their break from work as well as perhaps attending a special event for the holiday.

The Trafford Centre has now released its opening times for the Jubilee bank holiday and also shared details of the special events it is putting on to celebrate Her Majesty’s seven decades on the throne.

What are the Platinum Jubilee opening and closing times at the Trafford Centre?

The retail and leisure destination’s usual opening times of 10am until 10pm are being trimmed back slightly throughout the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The centre will be open from 10am until 8pm on Thursday and Friday (2 and 3 June), 10am until 9pm on Saturday 4 June and noon until 6pm on Sunday 5 June.

Some individual shops, restaurants and eateries may have slightly different opening times themselves, so anyone planning to have a meal or visit somewhere particular at the centre is advised to check online before setting off from home.

What events are the Trafford Centre putting on?

There are a number of special events happening at the retail hub to mark the four-day jubilee bank holiday.

There will be a full day of celebrations on Thursday 2 June stretching from noon until 10pm.

Traditional and contemporary tea dances will be performed on main stage located in The Orient between 12pm and 3pm, and then there will be live entertainment from 7pm leading up to the lighting of the Jubilee beacon outside the Great Hall at 9.50pm.
