The Manchester Half Marathon is nearly upon us and runners will be gearing up to pass through the sights and sounds of Manchester.

In 2022, the half marathon has a new route which is hoped will take in more of the city than ever before.

The route has been revealed in full and thousands of runners will take to the streets in just days.

A spokesperson for the Manchester Half Marathon explained what runners can expect from the 2022 route

They said: “The route may be slightly different, but some things never change, as usual, you can expect cheer stations and unrivalled support from the crowds as you conquer the 13.1 mile course (think loud and then double it).

“The route will be officially measured by an independent body, and a certificate issued to ratify the official Half Marathon distance.”

When is the 2022 Manchester Half Marathon?

The 2022 event is set to take place on Sunday October 9.

Can I still enter the 2022 event?

Entry to the 2022 Manchester Half Marathon is still open for individual, group and charity entries.

What is the route for the Manchester Half Marathon 2022?

Both the start and finish of the Half Marathon in 2022 will be near to Old Trafford, home of Manchester United.

However, this year, the route will be more focused in the city centre and will pass through areas of Manchester such as Sale, Stretford, and Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

The city centre stretch of the route will take runners past iconic buildings including the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester Opera House and the Midland Hotel.
