Oxford rock band Foals are coming to Manchester as part of the famous Sounds of The City music schedule.

Following on from Lewis Capaldi, Foals will be bringing a huge back catalogue of tracks to the Castlefield Bowl, which includes their newly released album ‘Life Is Yours’.

Ahead of the gig, here’s all you need to know about if you can still get tickets, what kind of setlist might get played by Foals, and which other acts will be performing at the Castlefield Bowl this month and next.

When do Foals play at the Castlefield Bowl?

Foals are due to be the second act of the summer to perform at the Bowl in the Sounds of the Summer series.

The gig takes place on Wednesday, 29 June at the Castlefield Bowl.

Who else is performing as part of the Sounds of the Summer series?

Foals follow Lewis Capaldi in the running order of Sounds of The City 2022, and in total there will be seven nights of music.

Can I still get tickets?

First hand tickets to the Castlefield Bowl gig have, unfortunately, sold out through Ticketmaster.

However, it may be possible to pick up tickets through resale website Twickets. According to the website, there are a selection of tickets available to purchase for less that £50 each.

These tickets are limited, so be sure to be quick if you want to avoid disappointment. You can also set up an alert through the website, which will notify you if any other tickets go on sale.

Who are Foals and what songs are they known for?

Foals are a British rock band who formed in Oxford in 2005. Their current line up is  lead vocalist and guitarist Yannis Philippakis, drummer and percussionist Jack Bevan and rhythm guitarist Jimmy Smith.

For over a decade, the band have toured internationally and sold out arenas across the globe.

They have released seven studio albums, including most recently ‘Life is Yours’ which was launched earlier this year.

They are most well known for their songs ‘Mountain At My Gate’ and ‘My Number’ and have been nominated for many awards in the last 14 years.

In 2020, they won the NME Award for ‘Best Live Band’.

Earlier this month, Foals released their seventh studio album ‘Life is Yours’.

Visitors site Visit Manchester gave a run down of what people can expect at the Castlefield Bowl.

A spokesperson said: “Castlefield Bowl in the heart of Manchester City Centre has hosted over the years sold out shows from the likes of Chic, New Order, Arcade Fire, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Rag N Bone Man, Last Shadow Puppets, Catfish And the Bottlemen, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, Paolo Nutini, James, Pixies and The Courteeners.”
