Scottish singer songwriter Lewis Capaldi is coming to the Castlefield Bowl this summer as part of the iconic Sounds of the City gig series.

Capaldi is to be the first instalment of this summer’s series, and he is the first of many across the board.

What is the full lineup for the 2022 Sounds of The City?

Lewis Capaldi is the first of seven big name acts who will be performing at the Castlefield Bowl during June and July.

Lewis Capaldi has had a busy summer so far, and has made appearances at various festivals across the UK, including Isle of Wight festival and Northside festival in Denmark.

Tickets for Lewis Capaldi’s gig at the Castlefield Bowl are still available, however there is low availability.

The all standing outdoor venue has tickets available for just over £44 anthese can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

A spokesperson said: “Castlefield Bowl in the heart of Manchester City Centre has hosted over the years sold out shows from the likes of Chic, New Order, Arcade Fire, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Rag N Bone Man, Last Shadow Puppets, catfish And the Bottlemen, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, Paolo Nutini, James, Pixies and The Courteeners.”

Who is Lewis Capaldi?

Lewis Capaldi is a singer songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. The 25-year-old was born on 7 October 1996.

In 2017 and 2018 he won several awards for his breakthrough music, including at the Scottish Music and Scottish Independent Music Awards.

He also won the ‘Brand New for 2019’ Award at the MTV Music Awards.

Capaldi has so far released one studio album, called Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent which was released in 2019.

There are rumours that a second studio album could be released at some point in 2022.

On his father’s side, Capaldi’s second cousin once removed is the actor Peter Capaldi, who appeared in his music video for "Someone You Loved" and was the lead singer and guitarist in a punk rock band called the Dreamboys.
