Coldplay announce European tour including Manchester shows: how to get tickets to Etihad Stadium gigs

Rock band Coldplay have announced a huge European tour taking place next year, including two nights in Manchester.

The 17 date announcement followed a triumphant run of six sold-out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium and these new shows will be a part of the Music Of The Spheres World Tour in summer 2023.

Since the band’s record-breaking tour began in Costa Rica in March 2022, more than four million tickets have been sold for the dates in Latin America, North America and Europe, which have attracted rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

The late spring shows will take place at the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City FC.

The tour has been heralded for its groundbreaking set of sustainability initiatives.

This includes a show powered by 100% renewable energy in almost all locations; the world’s first tourable battery system (made from 40 BMW electric car batteries); power bikes and kinetic dancefloors allowing fans to help power the show; solar panels and wind turbines at every venue; a pledge to cut tour emissions by 50%; incentives to encourage fans to travel by green transport; and one tree planted for every ticket sold.

When do Coldplay perform in Manchester?

The two Manchester dates, which are two of only three UK dates in 2023, are Wednesday, 31 May and Thursday, 1 June.

Both of these take place at the Etihad Stadium.

How to get tickets for Coldplay in Manchester

Tickets for all the 2023 shows go on sale at 10am on Thursday, 25 August 2022 through Live Nation.

The two Manchester dates are part of a packed European tour for Coldplay next year. The tour is set to kick off in Portugal on 17 May and finish up in Amsterdam on 16 July.
