The 27-year-old was not included in the matchday squad against Man City a week ago, or against Spurs on Thursday night and has once again been left out due to 'selection' reasons. Amorim has reiterated there is no disciplinary matter concerning Rashford's recent omission from the matchday squad and that his absence is only due to performance issues amid fierce competition for places.

Speaking ahead of the match earlier in the week, Amorim described Rashford’s situation as ‘the same’ heading into the Bournemouth clash, with the onus on the player to earn a place back in the squad. Matthijs de Ligt is also absent from the United squad for the second game in a row, with club sources confirming his absence is due to illness.

Andre Onana replaces Altay Bayindir in goal, while Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee also come into the starting line up.

United XI: Onana, Mazraoui, Maguire, Martinez, Dalot, Mainoo, Ugarte, Malacia, Amad, Fernandes, Zirkzee.

Subs: Bayindir, Evans, Yoro, Casemiro, Collyer, Eriksen, Antony, Garnacho, Hojlund.
