Erik ten Hag needs to find a solution quick if he is to keep his Man Utd job after the international break.

There could be a new look to Manchester United when they return to action against Brentford after the international break.

Erik ten Hag will be looking to ease the pressure on his position with an improved performance on Saturday afternoon, but could be without as many as nine senior stars for the clash. The latest injury situation is certainly an explanation for their poor start to the new campaign and it might be a while before Ten Hag can truly call upon his most effective starting line up.

Ten Hag will not only be relying on the injury situation to ease but will also need to make some tough calls to decide which underperforming star names deserve to keep their place, and which should be dropped for their poor form.

Here is what we think United's strongest line up is based on current form and a clean bill of health:

GK - Andre Onana

Onana has been United's best player so far this season and remains the only logical choice in goal.

CB - Harry Maguire

Maguire has performed when it has mattered most and is just ahead of Matthijs de Ligt in the pecking order right now.

CB - Lisandro Martinez

Jonny Evans was superb against Aston Villa but he is not a long-term solution and Martinez is still the better player.

RB - Noussair Mazraoui

Mazroaui has been United's best outfield performer and their signing of the summer. He will be sorely missed in the next few weeks.

LB - Luke Shaw

United have missed a natural left-back more than they have specifically missed Shaw. He has a point to prove upon his return.

CM - Kobbie Mainoo

Mainoo has struggled in his second senior season but remains their most gifted central midfielder.

CM - Christian Eriksen

United's best football this season has come with Eriksen in midfield and he deserves to be starting matches.

CAM - Bruno Fernandes

He's been really poor this season but Fernandes is still the catalyst of this United side and is their best attacking midfielder.

RW - Alejandro Garnacho

Garnacho is more effective from the left wing yet he still has the chance to make the right flank his own.

LW - Marcus Rashford

We have seen glimpses of Rashford's immense talent so far this season and he is still their best forward.

ST - Rasmus Hojlund

Hojlund has slowly been getting up to speed after injury as is the best option to lead the attack.
