A round-up of your latest Manchester United headlines before tomorrow's huge FA Cup clash against Liverpool

Manchester United supporters have a nervy Saturday without any football to prepare for a mammoth FA Cup clash against Liverpool.

English football’s greatest rivalry is renewed at Old Trafford with more than just bragging rights on the line. A spot in the FA Cup final is up for grabs and, for Erik ten Hag, winning silverware would provide much-needed solace from the critics.

As for Liverpool, they already have one trophy in the bag after clinching the Carabao Cup last month. The Reds are tussling for the Premier League but the prospect of dumping United out of the FA Cup will appeal to Jurgen Klopp and Co.

ManchesterWorld has profiled all the latest Red Devils headlines ahead of a huge game tomorrow afternoon. Here is your daily United news round-up for Saturday, March 16.

Henry hails former Red Devil

Thierry Henry has named Paul Scholes as the best player in Premier League history. When asked whether he took the No.1 spot, the Frenchman modestly played down that suggestion and credited the former United playmaker.

“I would have to go (with) Paul Scholes,” Henry said. “I don’t think people have given him the credit he deserves. One of the best, if not the best, I’ve played against. He could do anything.

“He made Manchester United tick. Every time we were playing them we needed to find a way to stop him. It’s true. I think Stevie G comes really close to him. But Paul Scholes would have to win.

“Unfortunately for him, when he was playing for the national team, for England, sometimes people didn’t see it like that. If I had Paul Scholes in my team, everything would be around him.”

Another thrashing inbound?

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has stuck his neck on the line by predicting a 5-0 win for Klopp’s men this weekend. Man United fans have been on the receiving end of 4-0, 5-0 and 7-0 drubbings in recent times - is another humiliation inbound?

“I don’t fancy Manchester United to get a result on Sunday,” Enrique told Grosvenor Sport. “Obviously when I was at Liverpool I didn’t get to experience them being this superior to Manchester United - it was more of a 50/50 when I played and sometimes United were the better team. This is still a difficult game for Liverpool, but I really think they are going to win.

“Manchester United are actually playing worse at Old Trafford than when they play away from home - it’s not the same as it used to be when I was playing. I’d love Liverpool to pick up a really big win here. I’m going to go 5-0 to them.”
