Man City vs Newcastle: FA Cup injury news as 8 out and 4 doubtful

Man City are one game away from a semi-final match at Wembley Stadium

Newcastle United are the first team standing between Manchester City and an historic ‘double treble’ as Pep Guardiola’s men try to emulate their incredible achievement from last season.

The Citizens are in excellent shape to compete for glory in both the league and Champions League, but this weekend’s focus is a quarter-final FA Cup clash against a Newcastle team targeting their first major domestic trophy since 1955.

The Sky Blues boast a tremendous head to head record with the Magpies in recent years, particularly at home, where they have not even conceded a goal against them since a DeAndre Yedlin strike back in September 2018.

Manchester City have lost just twice at home to Newcastle in all competitions since 2000, and have won both their games against them in the league this term. However, they were given a warning sign of what the Magpies were capable of in the League Cup as Alexander Isak’s goal eliminated Guardiola’s team from the competition.

Both side’s enter the game with a number of injury issues - most notably in goal - with both club’s playing without their first choice shotstopper. Ahead of kick-off we take a look at the injury situation for both teams and the player’s who are pushing hard to make a return to the fray.
