Thierry Henry has said Manchester United should sign Harry Kane instead of Victor Osimhen this summer.
The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new no.9, with Anthony Martial’s injury issues and Wout Weghorst’s patchy scoring record meaning Erik ten Hag is prioritising adding a new striker in the summer. Kane and Osimhen are two names which have been most strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford, and there are now almost daily reports and rumours circulating about who is more likely to join United.

Speaking on Wednesday night, former Arsenal striker Henry gave his verdict on the matter and said Kane would be the better addition due to his ability to drop deep, which may free up space for Marcus Rashford to run in behind.
“Because of the Premier League and he knows the Premier League, if I’m Man United, I go Kane,” the Frenchman told CBS Sports. “That doesn’t mean Osimhen is not a good player or whatever, it has nothing to do with that. I think Osimhen can adapt in any league.
“But if I’m Man United, I would look at [it like] ok, this guy doesn’t need to adapt to anything, he has a way of dropping and can allow Marcus Rashford to run in behind him when he drops. But Kane can play anywhere also by the way.”

A move for Kane this summer seems plausible given he’ll enter the final year of his current deal at Tottenham Hotspur, although there are rumours that Daniel Levy is trying to tie him down to a new deal. As for Osimhen, his stock is on the rise following a campaign that has seen him net 23 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
Therefore, the Nigerian is expected to be on the move this summer, and Henry was asked for his view on which clubs could be in for Osimhen. “We go back to a Chelsea, we go back to a United, if I’m thinking Premier League,” he responded.
“Paris Saint-Germain would look for a nine, because they are looking for a nine. So many teams I’m thinking, where is a nine missing? We know [Erling] Haaland is there [at Manchester City], let’s not talk about Kane and where he’s going to go or maybe stay.”
