Manchester United are expected announce the defender's arrival on transfer deadline day.

Erik ten Hag seemed to imply that Sergio Reguilon has completed his loan move to Manchester United.

The Tottenham Hotspur left-back has been targeted as short-term cover following the injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, which forced Ten Hag to select Diogo Dalot on the left of a back four last week. But the Dutchman looks set to have another option in that role for Sunday’s trip to Arsenal and, while the transfer hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, the United manager provided a major hint that it’s close.

"He [Reguilon] is here, he trained,” explained the former Ajax boss on Friday. “He's a very experienced player, played for big clubs, already played a lot of La Liga and Premier League games.

"He has a very good background, he can play very intense football, so we are happy. We had a problem with Luke Shaw injured and Tyrell Malacia injured, they are long-term out, so we responded well in that emergency situation.

"He will be in the squad as well [against Arsenal], yeah. Now we have to keep the group, again it's fully there.”

Meanwhile, Ten Hag was asked about the expected arrival of Sofyan Amrabat on transfer deadline day. “There are so many rumours, but it's nice?” he responded

"We have done good business, we constructed a strong squad and we are ready to go with the fight. I can't tell because I don't know if he can sign. When we have news, we will report it immediately.”

One signing that has been confirmed is that of Altay Bayindir, who joined on Friday from Fenerbahce, and Ten Hag described the goalkeeper as being ‘potentially’ available for the trip to the Emirates on Sunday.

"Could be because we have to register them by now,” he added. “We've covered every position and I think we have a very good keeper-group arrival in Altay."

The United manager also confirmed that summer signing Rasmus Hojlund could make his debut against the Gunners this weekend, having recovered from a back injury he suffered prior to his arrival from Atalanta. The Danish striker has been back in group training since last week, and Ten Hag said he could even start against the Gunners.
