'Working hard' - Omar Berrada gives verdict on Manchester United season and two things that have 'pleased' him

Man Utd are 15th in the Premier League after they lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend.

Manchester United chief executive officer Omar Berrada admits he 'recognises the challenges' of improving their poor form in the Premier League. United have lost 12 times in the league this season and sit 15th in the table following their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

The appointment of Ruben Amorim has not given United the lift they had initially hoped for and they have only won four matches in the Premier League since he was appointed back in November. United could yet salvage their season with success in the FA Cup and qualification for the Champions League by winning the Europa League, though they both appear to be unlikely given their erratic struggles throughout the campaign.

United are in need of immediate improvement and Berrada insists the club is focused on improving their league position, with the club almost certain to record their lowest-ever finish in the Premier League era.

United recognise poor Premier League season

Speaking upon the release of United's latest financial results Omar Berrada issued an update on their poor season so far: “We recognise the challenges in improving our men’s team’s league position and we are all working hard, collectively, to achieve that. At the same time, we are pleased to have progressed to the knock-out phase of the UEFA Europa League and the 5th Round of the FA Cup. Meanwhile, our women’s team is currently placed second in the Women’s Super League, and has reached the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup.

“Our redevelopment of the Carrington Training Complex remains on track. We continue to work towards a decision on the future of Old Trafford as part of a wider regeneration programme, which has now attracted UK Government support. This follows the work of the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force in demonstrating the significant economic potential of a revitalised area around a future stadium project.”
