Manchester United will receive compensation after player's summer exit confirmed

Manchester United have officially confirmed Omari Forson has departed the club following the expiry of his contract and signed for Serie A side AC Monza.
The 19-year-old rejected a new contract to extend his United stay in order to pursue opportunities elsewhere, having felt he was unlikely to get the playing time he needed if he remained at Old Trafford.

Monza, owned by former Italian president Silvio Berlusconi, gained promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history in 2022 and finished 12th this season. Their squad includes former Arsenal defender Pablo Mari and Danilo D'Ambrosio, who spent nine years at Inter Milan.
Back in January, Forson became the 249th academy graduate to make his senior debut for the club when he featured in their FA Cup victory over Wigan Athletic. Forson was also rewarded with a first Premier League start in defeat to Fulham, though these opportunities were not enough to convince him that his future would be best served by remaining at Old Trafford.]
United signed Forson from Tottenham in January 2019 and fought off serious interest from Arsenal the following year as they looked to poach him on a professional deal. The young forward has steadily risen through the youth ranks and played a role in the FA Youth Cup success alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo two years ago.
