Interim manager Ralf Rangnick is said to be wanting to bolster their squad in order to push for a top-four place this season.

There has been some activity though, with Anthony Martial leaving to join Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The latter have moved quicker than the Red Devils in their pursuit for the Colombian and according to The Guardian, have had a £37.6m bid rejected from Porto.

They add that Spurs’ bid is ‘not enough’ and Diaz has a release clause of £66m in his contract.

Interestingly, Sky Sports make no mention of a bid being rejected by Porto, instead claiming both Tottenham and Porto are ‘in talks’ for the 25-year-old.

They add that Antonio Conte’s side are willing to pay £37.6m up front for Diaz, with an additional £8.4m in add-ons, while Porto want £50.2m for the winger.

As per Sky journalist Kaveh Solhekol, United face competition from more than just Liverpool and Spurs, with the Red Devils, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund sending scouts to watch the Colombian.

“Lots of clubs have been watching him,” Solhekol said on The Transfer Show.

"At Porto’s game this weekend, there were scouts from Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund."

Diaz has made 28 appearances this season, scoring 16 goals and assisting his teammates on six occasions.

Donny van de Beek has been offered a way out of the club this month according to reports, with the Dutchman wanting to play more regularly.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace have offered the midfielder a loan move until the end of the season, but aren’t the only team interested in his services.

The Italian claims that in order to allow the midfielder to leave during the winter window, Palace would have to pay his full wages until June and there would be no buy option in the deal.

Van de Beek has made minimal appearances for the Red Devils this season, featuring 14 times in all competitions.

Jesse Lingard’s future at United is up in the air with the midfielder’s contract set to expire at the end of the campaign.

The 29-year-old is another player who hasn’t featured regularly this season, making 14 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rangnick.

Interest in the England international is said to be high, with the Red Devils already rejecting two loan offers for him.

As per BBC Sport’s Simon Stone, United have turned down offers from Tottenham and West Ham United, the club Lingard spent the second half of last season with, as they see the Hammers as a ‘top-four threat’.
