Manchester United look to be closing in on the signing of Christian Eriksen with reports claiming that the midfielder has been offered a £150k p/w contract at Old Trafford.

The Danish playmaker is one of the most sought after free agents in world football, with his Brentford contract expiring last month, and has interest from multiple Premier League suitors.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are believed to be United’s biggest competition but Everton and Leicester City are also said to be interested while Brentford haven’t given up hope of bringing him back to West London.

Multiple reports in news outlets are claiming that Manchester United are increasing their efforts to land Eriksen.

The Daily Star have exclusively claimed that the Red Devils have made a “verbal offer” to the Dane for a salary of £150,000 per week.

Meanwhile, The Mirror are also reporting that United have “stepped up” their bid to sign the former Ajax and Inter Milan star.

They claim that the offer made to Eriksen by the Old Trafford hierarchy is “formal” but note that several other Premier League clubs remain interested.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are believed to be United’s biggest competition while Everton, Leicester City and Brentford are also keeping tabs on the situation.

The Mirror also claim that Eriksen is “waiting to see who United sign this summer before making a decision on his immediate future”.

The recent news has seen United move into odds on favourites to sign Christian Eriksen with oddsmakers.

The Red Devils are now 4/7 on to land the Dane before September 3, 2022 and it’s Brentford who are second favourites at 3/1.

Newcastle United are 4/1 and Everton 12/1 while Tottenham Hotspur are way down the marker at 20/1.

Meanwhile, United are now 1/12 to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona in the same window which suggests a deal for the Dutchman may be getting closer.
