De Ligt, Mainoo, Shaw - Manchester United injury news and return dates as two stars could be back vs Man City

Man Utd could welcome two players back when they host Man City in the Premier League this weekend.

Manchester United could be boosted by the return of two stars when they welcome Man City to Old Trafford in the Premier League this weekend. United will hope for some derby day delight as they look to bounce back from defeat to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Ruben Amorim was handed a huge boost when he welcomed five players back to action at the City Ground, with four players involved after injury and Patrick Dorgu available after he served a three-match domestic ban. Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire both played in the 1-0 loss, while Altay Bayindir was back on the bench and Tom Heaton was included in the travelling squad.

There was further good news as Mason Mount made his first appearance since the Manchester derby win over Man City back in December and he will hope to feature against Pep Guardiola's side again this weekend. Here is all the latest injury news and potential return dates.

Manchester United latest injury news vs Man City

Luke Shaw - 6 April vs Man City (H)

Shaw returned to United training last week and is close to a return. He was not part of the squad that faced Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, but could be back on the bench when they face Man City this weekend.

Kobbie Mainoo - 6 April vs Man City (H)

Mainoo is also close to a return after his recent injury and should be available this month. He won't be rushed back into action but could be fit enough for a place on the bench against Man City, or Lyon next week.

Matthijs de Ligt - - 6 April vs Man City (H)

De Ligt was labelled a doubt to face Man City this weekend after he picked up a knock against Nottingham Forest. He should not be risked from the start but could still be fit enough for a place on the bench.

Ayden Heaven - 17 April vs Lyon (H)

Heaven did not suffer a serious setback against Leicester and it is hoped he will be back in training over the coming weeks. He should be available for selection by the middle of the month and definitely before the end of the season.

Amad Diallo - 4 May vs Brentford (A)

Amad is on course to return to training in the coming weeks and could even make an appearance by the end of the month. He should be available when they travel to face Brentford in May.

Jonny Evans - Unknown

Evans is close to a training return after he missed the last 19 matches with a muscle injury. He has not played since the Boxing Day defeat to Wolves.

Lisandro Martinez - Unknown

Martinez is a long-term absentee after he ruptured his ACL earlier in the year. He underwent successful surgery but is expected to face a minimum of six months out of action. He might not even play again this calendar year.
