Manchester United eye ‘exceptional’ star as Jose Mourinho targets cut-price transfer

Manchester United are once again in rebuild mode as they enter another new era.

After a disappointing campaign, United will again turn to a new boss, with Erik ten Hag handed the reins for next season and beyond.

Antony links

United are being backed to make a move for Ajax star Antony.

The Red Devils have been linked with a whole host of Ajax players ahead of this summer, and the Brazilian winger is the latest.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke told GiveMeSport: “Antony would definitely add some attacking flair to Manchester United’s frontline if they were to sign him.

“He’s been exceptional for Ajax, not just in the Eredivisie but also in the Champions League. So, I think those two [Antony & Jurrien Timber] probably would be the two players they’ll be looking at the most to bring in from Ajax.”

Wan-Bissaka interest

United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be moved on this summer after losing the race with Diogo Dalot at right-back.

And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, Conference League winners Roma are now plotting a £25million move for the former Crystal Palace star.

The decision is said to be Ten Hag’s, but Roma are reportedly willing to sign the defender on loan, as long as they have an option to buy.

Danjuma eyed

The Red Devils are still said to be interested in Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.

The winger was on United’s shortlist last summer, but they pursued Jadon Sancho instead, and the Yellow Submarine stepped in to sign Danjuma from Bournemouth.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United are now interested in Danjuma again, especially now that they have a Dutch boost, but it’s a much more difficult transfer this summer, given he is tied down long-term at Villarreal.
