Man Utd star's remarkable form following loan exit 'noted' by Bayern Munich in surprise twist

One of Manchester United’s departed loan players is reportedly attracting interest from the Bundesliga

Rashford has joined Premier League rivals Aston Villa while Antony has moved to La Liga side Real Betis with Malacia signing for Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven. The left-back has started one game for PSV since his move while he was an unused substitute against Juventus in the Champions last week and also remained on the bench against FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie over the weekend.

Rashford had made two appearances for Villa, coming off the bench in their 2-1 win over Tottenham in the FA Cup earlier this month while he was introduced as a substitute as Unai Emery’s side drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town. Ollie Watkins scored for the hosts after Rashford’s free-kick had hit the crossbar.

Antony’s performances ‘attracting’ attention

Meanwhile, Antony has firmly hit the ground running at Betis with three goals in his first four games for the Spanish club. His latest appearance was in a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday as he also provided an assist after scoring a well-placed volley in the 51st minute. He also won a penalty in that game but the spot-kick was missed.

Antony’s future is highly likely to be away from Old Trafford with his long-term future set to be worked out in the summer. However, in a surprise twist to his possible next move, Antony is reportedly being eyed by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. That is according to reports in Spain from Fichajes, who claim Munich have ‘taken note’ of Antony’s upturn in form since leaving United and they are now ‘closely following’ his progress.

The report adds that the possibility of a formal offer being made by Bayern has risen in recent weeks. Antony joined Untied from Ajax for around £86m in the summer of 2022 but has struggled to live up to that price tag. He scored just one goal for the Red Devils this season before heading to Betis.

Antony discusses start to life with Real Betis

After his goal and assist against Sociedad, Antony was interviewed by Spanish television. Broadcast by Premier Sports in the UK, Antony said: “I'm really happy with the game that we had today. We knew that it was really important to win and keep going to pick up confidence. I think the most important thing is to be happy and here I'm really happy.

“As I said before, I'm really happy to score, to help the team and we'll keep going like this. I said to Vito before the game that I was going to score. I was really happy to score today.

“That's why I celebrated with the Brazilians. We need to get the three points at home and now we've managed to do that. We need to maintain our focus so that in other games we also win. I'm not setting a number for goals. I work hard every day. I'm really focused, really happy here. I enjoy every day and we'll continue like that.”
