Manchester United forward scores stunner for new club as midfielder returns just two weeks after loan setback

The latest Man Utd loan news round-up on a mixed weekend for those who left the club on loan.

Manchester United loanee Antony shone again as he helped loan club Real Betis to a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday night. The forward now has three goals and one assist in four appearances for the La Liga side, netting the best one yet with a superb volley to open the scoring.

The 24-year-old has been named Player of the Match in three of his four appearances for Betis and impressed on a weekend when parent club United were without 12 players for their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Antony is not the only player to have left United on loan this season though, with 15 players currently out on temporary deals until the end of the season, though a few of those include options to make it permanent. Here is a look at how United's loanees got on over the latest matchday.

Manchester United loan round-up

Marcus Rashford impressed from the bench as Aston Villa came from behind to draw 1-1 with Ipswich Town in the Premier League. The forward created the most chances (4) and completed the most dribbles (3) of any player during the match, despite only being brought on at half-time. Elsewhere, Jadon Sancho featured from the bench as Chelsea were defeated 3-0 by Brighton on Friday night and Tyrell Malacia was an unused substitute as PSV Eindhoven drew 2-2 with FC Utrecht.

In the EFL, Ethan Wheatley was not named in the Walsall squad that defeated Chesterfield 3-1 and Ethan Ennis was not named in the Doncaster side that lost 2-1 at home to Grimsby. Joe Hugill started in Carlisle's goalless draw with Colchester United, while Sonny Ajolfree played the entirety of Accrington Stanley's away defeat to Morecambe. Rhys Bennett started as Fleetwood Town lost to Bromley, Ethan Williams started as Cheltenham Town defeated Barrow, but Sam Mather and Louis Jackson did not feature as Tranmere Rovers drew with MK Dons. In non-league, Jack Kingdon featured from the bench as Rochdale drew with Southend United and over in Austria, Radek Vitek started in goal as Blau-Weiss Linz lost 3-1 at home to Altach.

The other notable piece of loan news is that midfielder Dan Gore has returned to United to receive treatment on a foot injury after an unfortunate start to life at Rotherham. It is understood the 20-year-old suffered a hairline foot fracture during training and has now returned to Carrington to undergo rehabilitation.

Gore is expected to be sidelined for roughly a month but will return to the League One club once he has been deemed fit enough to play for United staff. “I think that four full-time doctors and eight physios tells you where he should be," said Rotherham boss Steve Evans “We've done that with other loan players in the past. Their progress is quicker because they have more medical back-up on hand. He's in a good place there. The medical people say you can have a delayed reaction to it. It's unusual for that to happen but it can happen. We have to accept that."
