ManchesterWorld understand that Manchester United midfielder Grace Clinton will move on loan to a WSL club this summer following her successful stint at Bristol City last season.

Clinton, 20, was vital in the Robins promotion to the WSL after joining in January, scoring six goals in 10 games as they won the Women's Championship by just one point to secure a return to the top tier.

Understandably, Bristol City had shown interest in bringing the former Everton midfielder back to Ashton Gate, however, Clinton will not be returning to the newly promoted side and instead will make a move to Tottenham Hotspur on a season long loan deal.

Spurs, who recently appointed former BK Hacken manager Robert Vilahamn, were one of three clubs strongly interested in a deal for the midfielder and it is believed they have won the race for her signature ahead of Brighton, who had also shown interest in the England youth international.

Red Devils' boss Marc Skinner had hinted that Clinton may be given an opportunity when speaking to ManchesterWorld in March, saying he was “really, really happy” with the midfielder's form at Bristol City and could “come into Manchester United in the future and make a real difference”.

However, with Ella Toone, Vilde Boe Risa, Hayley Ladd, Katie Zelem and Lisa Naalsund all occupying midfield spots, a loan move to obtain regular game time is on the cards for the 20-year-old - while she did not appear in yesterday's training photos as the squad returned to Carrington.

One photo who appears to have wrapped up a move to the club though is Scotland international Emma Watson. The 17-year-old has been a long term target of Skinner and has long been expected to make the move to United following the expiration of her contract at Rangers.

Already capped at international level, Watson is viewed as one of the countries hottest prospects and eagle eye fans have already spotted the youngster in yesterday's training photos, indicating a deal is now rubber stamped and simply awaiting official confirmation.
