Man Utd loan star scores to help club secure title and promotion to top flight
The Manchester United midfielder has been a stand out player for the Robins as they have stormed to the league title by winning 10 of their last 12 games.
Bristol City secured their return to the Women’s Super League this weekend as they demolished Charlton Athletic 4-0 at Ashton Gate and it was Clinton who set them on their way when she capitalized on a defensive mistake to open the scoring the 25th minute.

Hide AdThe strike was the 20-year-old’s sixth goal in 10 games since her loan move in January and will be music to the ears of United boss Marc Skinner who already stated he was “really, really happy” with the form of the midfielder. The head coach added he was sure the England under-19 international could “come into Manchester United in the future and make a real difference” when the future of Clinton was discussed with ManchesterWorld just last month.
Skinner has been pleased to see several loan moves prove to be “particularly successful” for United’s young stars this season and, alongside Emily Ramsey and Kirsty Hanson, the Liverpool born midfielder has been one that has been especially fruitful.
The Robins still have one game to go in the Championship season but secured the title after going four points clear with their win and will return to the top tier for the first time since their relegation in 2021.
Elsewhere in the Women’s Championship, fellow United loanee Tara Bourne saw her current side Birmingham City move into second after back to back wins over Durham and will hope to have caught the eye of Skinner after she grabbed her first senior goal in last weekend’s 1-0 win over the Wildcats.
