Erik ten Hag and Rob Edwards respectively addressed the media on Friday ahead of Manchester United v Luton Town.

Manchester United will be without seven players for Saturday’s Premier League game against Luton Town.

Erik ten Hag confirmed on Friday that Jonny Evans is the latest player to join his list of absentees, meaning two of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane are expected to start at centre-back.

Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Amad are all progressing from their respective injury issues, but none of the trio will be back this side of the international break, while Ten Hag revealed on Tuesday that Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro won’t play before Christmas.

The only absentee for the Red Devils is Jadon Sancho, with the former Borussia Dortmund winger still training with the youth side after his public criticism of his manager in September.

As for Luton, manager Rob Edward revealed ahead of the club’s first trip to Old Trafford since 1991 that Cauley Woodrow has been ruled out. “Cauley hurt his calf, he’s out for a few weeks, so really disappointed,” said the 40-year-old.

“He’s another one, he’ll hopefully not be too long, he was really frustrated and we’re disappointed to lose him as he’s been doing really well.”

Luton also remain without Mads Andersen, Reece Burke, Dan Potts, Luke Berry, Amari'i Bell, Albert-Mboyo and Sambi Lokonga, but Edwards said he is hopeful of getting a few back after the international break.

“Amari’s progressing well, he still won’t be quite ready for this one, so the squad will be very, very similar to the Liverpool game. We are getting bodies back quite quickly after the international break which I think will be a real positive for us.

Meanwhile, there is better news for Jordan Clark, who could make his first Premier League appearance on Saturday having recovered from an ankle injury sustained in pre-season.

“Clicks has had a full week again, he’d only had a couple of days before that one and it was almost needs must with him being around,” Edwards told reporters on Friday. "He’s had a full week’s work, it’s brilliant to have him back and he’s already shown what he’s about in training, so really pleased to have him back.”

Out: Evans, Martinez, Shaw, Malacia, Casemiro, Amad, Sancho (United); Andersen, Burke, Potts, Bell, Berry, Lokonga, Woodrow.
