Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has plenty of work to do in his first transfer window at Old Trafford as he aims to get his team firing on all cylinders after a disastrous first half of the season.
As it stands, the Red Devils sit in the bottom half of the table and very few members of the first team squad can currently say that they are performing at their full potential.

The former Sunderland loanee is blessed with incredible speed, tremendous technical ability and a superb eye for a pass which has made him an asset for Amorim’s struggling side.
The youngster’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season in June 2025, but reports from the Express claim that the Red Devils have already inserted a clause which will allow them to extend the deal by a further 12 months.
Amorim has praised Diallo greatly during his time at Old Trafford and has insisted he is a major part of his long-term vision.

He’s very good playing in that position, but also playing between the lines, because he has a good control and he seems faster with the ball than without the ball, so it's something that he has and he’s capable of playing in both positions and he can play in different systems.
"So, in the future, we will play in a different system, maybe. So he is that kind of player that we need in the team.”
The Express understands Amorim is keen for the youngster to sign a long-term contract at Old Trafford beyond 2026 and insists a deal between the two parties is close as the Portuguese coach makes it one of his main January priorities.
Forgotten Manchester United ace set for January exit
Tyrell Malacia was one of the initial bright sparks in Erik ten Hag’s team when he first arrived at Old Trafford back in 2022.

However, injury problems derailed Malacia’s second season and he has so far been restricted to just two 45 minute outings this term under Amorim.
The 25-year-old is not thought to be a part of Amorim’s long-term vision and has been linked with a surprise loan switch to Italian giants Juventus, via TuttoMercato.
