The Dutchman left Eredivisie champions Ajax to take over at Old Trafford and raided his former club to bring in Lisandro Martinez and Antony, along with other additions Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Martin Dubravka.

The attacker ended up staying at Old Trafford beyond the transfer deadline.

However, as per a report by RMC Sport, Rashford was one of a few targets who Mbappe was keen to work with along with West Ham United new boy Gianluca Scamacca.
