The potential takeover of Manchester United continues to be the biggest story surrounding the club with supporters getting frustrated at the length of time a deal seems to be taking.

Sheikh Jassim remains the favourite to purchase the club if a sale does go through but things appear to be stalling at the current ownership’s end. Now, a former Red Devils skipper has publicly criticised the Glazers for their lack of communication saying that fans have been ‘left in the dark’.

Neville slams Glazers for ‘leaving fans in dark’

Pundit and former Manchester United skipper Gary Neville has slammed the club’s owners for their lack of communication with supporters amid the ongoing sale process. Speaking to The Guardian, the Sky Sports commentator said that supporters had been ‘left in the dark’ by the Glazers.

He said: “What you want from leaders is good, clear communication. The Glazer family do the exact opposite. They’re in a position of authority, looking after a community – and United’s fans around the world are a global community – but the Glazers haven’t communicated with them for nearly 20 years.

“The sale process is extending to an unpalatable length, everyone’s in the dark, and it’s symptomatic. They have to exit, but I haven’t got faith that they’ll do the right thing.”
