Manchester United are interested in Barcelona Femini forward Geyse as a replacement for Alessia Russo, according to reports.

Marc Skinner's side are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements after the departure of the Lionesses striker last week and are believed to hold interest in the Brazilian forward as her replacement.

The Women's Super League window opened this morning and United are also understood to hold interest in fellow Brazil star Kerolin and Brighton forward Katie Robinson.

Geyse is expected to play a key role for her country in this year's Women's World Cup and will enter the tournament on the back of a successful season with Barca, who won both their domestic league and the UEFA Women's Champions League last season. She has one year left on her current deal, so any move for the player would require a transfer fee.

ManchesterWorld understand that United's do indeed see Geyse as one of their top summer targets, however, Barcelona are reluctant to sell and will look to resist a move for the 25-year-old who scored 6 goals in 24 matches in the Primera Division Women last season.

It has been a difficult summer for Skinner's side so far with the loss of key players Russo and full back Ona Batlle and the club are working hard to bring in reinforcements ahead of their debut season in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Moves for Reading defender Gemma Evans and Rangers' midfielder Emma Watson are believed to be close to completion.
