Manchester United are looking to bank some important funds during the January transfer window.

Manchester United are relying on some winter sales in order to aid their January transfer market browsing. The Red Devils have been linked to a number of exciting potential transfers ahead of the new year but they are also looking to cash in on some existing players first.

One of the main names on the list of players to sell is Jadon Sancho, who has not played under Erik ten Hag since August. Since his fallout with the manager, it has been made clear that his future lies away from Old Trafford, and while United are willing to move him on in January, ESPN recently reported that the club will not be pressured into accepting a cut price.

However, the Reds have hit a stumbling block in their attempts to move Sancho on and may need to rethink their approach. According to Football Insider, United are 'struggling to find a buyer' for the 23-year-old, who was hitting double figures in both goals and assists before his move to Old Trafford.

During his last season at Dortmund, Sancho tallied 16 goals and 20 assists and that was even with a spell on the sidelines due to injury. A whole host of Premier League clubs were interested in signing him, but now United are finding it hard to cash in.

The report claims that Sancho is on 'huge' wages, which have created a 'massive' hurdle for the Reds to get past as they search for a permanent buyer. The main interest in Sancho is said to be coming from Saudi Arabia following their sweep of the Premier League in the summer, but the versatile forward reportedly wants to stay in Europe.

United were hoping to recoup a fair chunk of money through January sales, and Sancho cost them £73 million in 2021. However, based on their struggles to find interest so far, and the fact the England international has not played for four months, things aren't looking to positive at this moment in time.
