Fabrizio Romano claims Man Utd have 'already spoken' to three potential January transfer targets

Manchester United are said to be keen to improve their front line during the January transfer window as they look to replace Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United are said to have spoken to as many as three potential targets ahead of the January transfer window. The Red Devils are in need of reinforcements in January amid significant injuries in defence and midfield, while Jadon Sancho's exclusion means there is likely a need to sign an attacker.

Just how many signings United will be able to wrap up is another thing amid Financial Fair Play concerns. But it seems the Red Devils have already been doing their homework ahead of the winter transfer window, with one reporter claiming discussions have already been held with representatives of three players.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside: “I haven’t heard anything regarding a Man Utd move for Youssef En-Nesyri as of now. Names I’ve mentioned in the past are Donyell Malen, Serhou Guirassy and Timo Werner because I’m aware that Man Utd spoke to their representatives. I’m also sure the race is still open and nothing has been decided.”

Werner, of course, had a disappointing spell with Chelsea on the whole, but he has picked up where he left off at RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, Malen has scored 19 goals in 68 league appearances at Borussia Dortmund, and Guirassy, who has also been linked with Tottenham, has scored an impressive 17 goals in 14 league appearances since joining Stuttgart earlier this year.

United are still hoping to get the best out of summer signing Rasmus Hojlund, who recently broke his Premier League duck, while Erik ten Hag is still trying to turn Antony's fortunes around. Alejandro Garnacho has impressed this season, while Marcus Rashford has failed to live up to last season's form. The Red Devils will be hoping to offload Sancho to ease FFP restrictions to allow them to replace him this winter.
