Man Utd told they are not going to be happy with what they see from Marcus Rashford in coming weeks
Marcus Rashford has found some form at Aston Villa since leaving Manchester United on loan in January
Former Manchester United and Aston Villa striker Dwight Yorke has backed Marcus Rashford to send a message to his parent club and believes the forward will further improve while on his loan spell at Villa Park.
The United academy graduate was sent out on loan to Villa in the final days of the January transfer window. After being dropped for the Manchester derby with Manchester City in mid-December Rashford expressed his desire to find a new challenge. He was linked with a number of clubs across Europe before Villa made their move to sign him until the end of the season.
How has Rashford been getting on at Aston Villa?
Rashford has started once for Aston Villa under Unai Emery while making five appearances in total. His first appearance came in a 2-1 FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur. His first Premier League outing was a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town. He played a role in Villa’s equaliser in that game as his free-kick struck the crossbar before being snaffled home by Ollie Watkins on the rebound.
He came off the bench against Chelsea last weekend and provided two assists as Emery’s side came from 1-0 down to win 2-1. On Tuesday night he was again introduced off the bench but lost his first game for Villa, as Crystal Palace won 4-1 at Selhurst Park.
Yorke discusses Rashford form
Yorke feels that United are going to be left unhappy if Rashford’s form improves and feels that Emery can get the best out of him. The ex-striker told casinobeats.com when discussing Rashford’s form: “He is finding his confidence again. You can see the difference in his spirit. It's so obvious - his body language just tells you a million things, when you're playing the way, he's playing.
“The boy's always had talent, and I defended that from the very beginning. I always said I can't help what's going through his head and why he's not performing to the level. But at 27, he should be one of the best players in the Premier League. I think Villa have got a hell of a player on their hands, and with nurture and bringing him back slowly, he can only get better.
“He's not going get worse. I think it's quite incredible that someone can leave a bigger club, go to a lesser club and then they're producing the goods. I know there's still 11 games, but you watch. The reason why Villa will be so sustainable and consistent for the remainder of the season is because of the addition of Rashford. He is electrifying. I've been in football for a long time, and I consider myself as a baller.
“This guy is also a baller. Rashford can fly. You get his mindset right; he will lift up the place if he's in the right mood. And he looks like he's getting his juice back. I think the manager that he's playing for is an exceptional manager and we'll get the best out of him.
“The Man United camp will not be very happy with what they're about to see in the coming weeks and months. Watch him go to work. He's just going to send a message and say, right, there you go. Just watch the space.”
