Rashford moved on loan to Villa Park in the final hours of the January transfer window, on an initial deal until the end of the season, with the option to make it permanent for £40 million in the summer. Villa will cover a minimum 75 percent of the forward's wages, a figure that could rise to 90 percent with performance-related bonuses.

The 27-year-old has been looking for a new challenge in his senior career and there has been plenty of interest surrounding his move to Villa after two decades playing for his boyhood club. Rashford made his Villa debut over the weekend, featuring from the bench in their 2-1 FA Cup fourth round win at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Rashford will have much tougher challenges ahead of him, though manager Emery is reportedly very happy with what he has seen so far. In his latest newsletter, transfer guru Romano issued an update on the forward and revealed the first impression of him at Villa Park. “Very happy. Good attitude, good training, now of course, it will take some time to be back in good form and shape but very good impact," he said.

That sentiment was echoed by Villa teammate Morgan Rogers, who is delighted to learn off such an experienced player at this stage in his career. Speaking after the victory over Spurs, he told reporters: "It pushes us along, we want to take what we can from the experienced players in the squad. It's massive to have people like that in the building and hopefully we can just push each other. The second goal was important, we played well but we hadn't killed the game off."
